Tuli in Botsawana, Southern Africa is not known as The Land of Giants for nothing. With giant boulder-strewn rocky outcrops, the mighty Limpopo River and the largest land mammal in the world - the African elephant - this vast and dramatic wilderness is a photographers dream or indeed a nature enthusiasts dream.
In the September & October periods elephants gather in large numbers. This is a great time to visit Botswana and watch their daily movements to and from water during this dry period.
The dust and rugged landscape provides ample opportunities to capture some great images. The golden backlit elephants provide the focus, only enhanced by the golden halos created by the swirling dust and the African sun.
Let's also not forget the other game that inhabits this area, Tuli is full of good game and also great lion country! I certainly hope to be venturing there this year for a wildlife photography trip and an adventure!
