The riad oussagou is run by a really hospitable family in imlil( high atlas mountains).Rooms are clean and really nice.Breakfast served on a huge terrace with a wonderful view.We felt like in a dream. The hostel is situated about 5 minutes from the path to Toubkal.
We had a very pleasant stay, however brief, at the Riad. Houssein was very helpful and patient with us, as our plans changed midway through vis-a-vis our trekking trip. He was flexible and worked with us to line up a guide and gear very last minute and made the logistics of coordinating baggage drop off at the end of our stay and a taxi back to Marrakech very simple. We also met some very pleasant fellow guests and the view was spectacular and the food bountiful.

The \'old\' Toubkal refuge

Hi Henry, the ‘new’ Toubkal refuge is positively luxurious when compared to the ‘old’ Toubkal refuge. I can’t remember too much about the nights I spent there, in fact I choose to block them out. But I can tell you it was on a par with fitting 50 smelly climbers (and guides) into a smart car and then telling them to cook a meal. Bring back the good old days. - McMurphy

Taxi

You\'re right about the cost of taxi\'s from the airport Henry but you can pick up a cab in Marrakech (or you could when I was last there) to whisk you to Imlil for under £20 - and the driver will make as many tea stops as you want.

You can also hire ice axes and crampons if you ask around in Imlil though the set of spikes we picked up were about as useful as strapping a plate of couscous to your feet - Alun
